Warhammer Twitch Previews - Warhammer Fest 2021 Day 5
Warhammer 40,000 day two! The smart money is on feral Orks, but we may yet get some surprises. Emperor be praised if we make it through this weekend without a Primaris Space Marine reveal.
And what do you know, it’s a reveal of the Beast Snagga Orks. Looks like an entire army box. Got some squig riders, some different choppa sculpts (maybe) festooned in a pelts and such, not to mention a bunch of Nobz and the Zodgrod Wortsnagga special character. All the miniatures absolutely nail the “Orky” feel that is both hilarious and terrifying. I think my favourite is the snotling riding a rocket-powered squig wielding a rusty nail. On the back of the Army Box is the release of the new Ork Codex, which I guess might drop around the same time as the Sisters of Battle Codex? Unfortunately, it will be a limited release box, which is fine by me as I have no current plans to collect Orks. Even if these models look super dope. Oh well, can’t win them all. More stuff coming for Orks in the form of a new Warboss in Mega Armour, I quite like his massive axe-thing and the grot on back with a mounted gun. Bit odd that the Warboss seemed tacted on at the end after the Army Box, seemed like the Warboss was going to be the first of a few reveals. Maybe we’ll get some more reveals the closer we get to the Codex? I somehow doubt it, Games Workshop likes to tease things well in advance these days. I mean, we first saw the Sisters of Battle Palatine nearly a year ago! She was first teased during the launch party for Ninth Edition.
Upgrade kit for Cadian Shock Troops! Including female heads! Not a re-sculpt of the existing kit but an upgrade sprue that will come along with Cadian boxes moving forward. Rather intriguing as I was planning to pick up some Guardsmen to go with my tanks, although I was planning on getting some replacement heads from Anvil Industries. Mostly because I wanted some beret heads to match what I have envisioned for my own Guardsmen regiment. I guess I’ll be picking this up because, as mentioned, it will come with Guardsmen squads moving forward. I suspect this will also entail a price increase, but that is literally the price we pay. Either way, I'm excited for it as the sprue will allow me to add a nice variety to the small amount of infantry that I’m planning to get.
Grey Knights and Thousands Sons teaser, I guess means that they’re respective Codices are coming next. Maybe Grey Knights can finally get some Primaris upgrades! I imagine that they each will get some token miniatures, like Death Guard got the Lord of Virulence. I do have a small force of Grey Knights so I’m a little keen to see what they get, a dedicated Dreadnought model would be nice, given that the Dreadknight is frankly an abomination to the Emperor. I wonder what Thousand Sons will get? A more different sorcerer no doubt.
